Portobello Express (fan profile) Their original and melodic flirtation with subtle and smart pop-melodies serves to prove they didn’t give up their adherence to folk sounds. The interplay between voice and instruments underscores the storytelling and a heart-bearing authenticity reaffirms the band’s folk sensibilities.
All songs written by Eileen! TOP! Favorite track: Drunken Tree.

Way Out Of My Head Crazy thoughts running through my head Don’t wanna be alone It might be something simple someone said Now I don’t wanna be alone Don’t wanna feel like this Don’t wanna be demanding Don’t wanna pressurise Don’t wanna spoil our lives Is there a way out of my head? Is there a way to take a break Is there a way out of this mess? Is there a way Out of my head Frantic looking here and looking there Does the answer lie within? It might be something that’s already there Still I’m still scared to be alone

about

Fishing4Compliments are a 5 piece band from Huddersfield. After over ten years of having a lot of fun developing and bringing their songs to an array of venues across the North of England and beyond they finally recorded a set of their songs mainly for posterity and to hopefully spread the joy they have had creating their music and this record. The band emerged organically around the songs of lead singer-songwriter Eileen which in essence reflect the hidden story of her life as songwriting became her way of coping with life's rich tapestry of feelings and emotions over the years. This album is made with love and thanks to all the audiences that have made the Fishing4Compliments road such a joyous one and to anyone that has ever asked at gigs about the band's availability of recorded songs.

The album is produced by Joseph & David Dunwell of the successful Leeds based band The Dunwells who poured their enthusiasm and creative energy into the making of this album and have also generously added to the backing vocals on a number of the tracks featured. Fishing4Compliments 'Off The Isle Of Somewhere' recording journey actually began when they played at a music night being run by David Dunwell who suggested he would like to record the band. The album is thus also with thanks to David for helping the band to build up the faith and confidence in their music to head out on an amazing recording journey together.

Fishing4Compliments are: Eileen Wattam (a.k.a Eileen Alanna) Singer-Songwriter; Ashley Wattam (Rhythm Guitarist); James Alexander (Lead Guitarist & backing vocalist); Steve Dyson (Bass Guitarist & backing vocalist) and David Sharp (Drummer & Percussionist)
